Described by musicians and press as “Exceptionally gifted”, “a complete aesthete of his art”, “an artist of great artistic and creative perspectives,” Constantini holds an international career as concert pianist, paralleled by his activities as bandoneonist and composer.
Top prize winner at international competitions in New York, Italy and The Netherlands, Constantini graduated with highest honours from the Rotterdam Conservatory in The Netherlands (Master of music) where he studied with Aquiles Delle Vigne, and from the Lahti University in Finland (Bachelor of music) where he studied with Lauri Väinmaa and Raija Kerppo. Furthermore, he holds the “Diplome de virtuosité” from the Schola Cantorum in Paris-France, where he also studied with maestro Delle Vigne. He was awarded with the HSP Huygens scholarship for excellence for the completion of his master degree studies in The Netherlands.
Born in Lima-Perú into a family of professional musicians, he began his music studies with the piano at age 13. Already one year later he won his first award, the 3rd prize in theNational Bela Bartok piano competition. At age 16 he entered the National conservatory and continued under the tutelage of his father, pianist Gerardo Constantini. The same year, he made his solo piano debut recital with great success and performed various recitals around the most important cities in Perú.
After moving to Europe in 2001, Constantini has been invited to perform at festivals such as Het Grachtenfestival (The Netherlands),Helsinki Festival (Finland), the Turku Jazz festival (Finland), Riihimäki summer festival (Finland), Murcia International orchestra festival (Spain), Piano.lt festival (Lithuania). Furthermore, he has performed as soloist and with orchestras in countries such as the United States of America, Japan, Russia, Peru, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, etc, in some of the most important cities and venues such as De Doelen (Rotterdam), Muziekgebouw (Amsterdam), Glinka Hall (St.Petersburg), Auditorio Julio Villegas (Spain), Sibelius Hall (Finland), Tampere hall (Finland), Sellosali (Finland), Linnateatteri(Finland), among others.
Constantini’s ample repertoire ranges from baroque works till present day composers such as E.Rautavaara,U.Sisask, or G.Beytelmann. He is also an active chamber musician. At present he is the artistic leader and composer of the Constantini-Villena-Myohanen trio, Septetoscopio ensemble, and Duo Versos.
